Mission Burrito are a small fast food chain based in Oxfordshire with stores across the UK.

In 2017 Mission Burrito decided to conduct a brand refresh to strengthen its presence online and entice new customers.

With our combined skills in customer interfaces, user experience and design my business partner and I decided to pitch for the opportunity to refresh the brand.

Our first task was to carry out a heuristic analysis of the mission burrito website reviewing:

User journeys,

Ease of use

Navigational elements,

User interactions,

Design consistencies,

Competitor analysis was then conducted against a wide range of industry leaders including: Poncho 8, Tortilla, and Chilango
This was done while also looking at restaurants outside of the burrito sector.
By following this approach it provided a rounded view on various elements such as:

Design features

Use of social media

Layout variations,

Use of typography

Design consistencies,

Best web practices

My goal was to create designs that truly encapsulated the Mexican essence of fun and high energy with the use of vibrant colours and clean imagery, while being easy to navigate and true to the Mission Burrito brand.
